A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a typographical error. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam email messages, but this issue can be rectified by using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound messages to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you’ve got a hosting plan with us and you want to activate the catch-all option for a certain mailbox that you’ve got in the web hosting account, it’ll take literally only one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can choose one address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. If you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notice and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

You will be able to configure a catch-all email address with no more than a click if you have a semi-dedicated plan with us and your emails are handled by our cloud platform. All the email addresses that you create with any domain name hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel. Each of them will have a small "Catch-all" icon on its right-hand side, so all it will take to activate this option will be to click that icon. In the exact same manner you will be able to turn off the feature, in case you do not need it anymore. Our system will let you know in case you are attempting to activate a 2nd catch-all address for a given domain or in case there is enabled email forwarding, but it will never change or disable any feature automatically and without your consent.
